Lt. Diedrich Hohn, who has been a police officer for 22 years, was promoted to captain and will take over patrol units in the downtown area of town, said Capt. Richard Conklin.

Hohn, who ran the Youth Bureau and Bureau of Criminal Investigations, also worked with the Narcotics and Organized Crime Squad, is the department’s eighth captain.

Also promoted was Sgt. Lou DeRubeis who was promoted to lieutenant, Conklin said.

DeRubeis has served with the department for 20 years and will continue to run the department's bomb squad while serving in the patrol area.
